  • FIRST THURSDAY - Leicester's own Liffey Descent

    As you may know, PaddlePlus offer a longer paddle for the first Thursday of each month. In preparation for the team entering the Liffey Descent in Dublin on 4th September, August's longer paddle  will be Leicester's own version of the Liffey Descent (5 weirs, 5 miles, 1 portage and lock release)

    With a mass start at Ayelstone lock (with a powerful release of a full lock of water) racing to the finish at the Watermead Bridge over 5 weirs and an enforced portage at the LOPC from boat shed to kayak steps. Cover will be provided at Power Station weir (and maybe sarcastic Irish commentary).

    What could possibly go wrong!

  • Wye Camp

    Annual PaddlePlus camp on the banks of the River Wye over the August Bank Holiday. Good company, paddling and other activities.
    Very Basic camp site (it's a field with a tap or two!)
    Catering arrangements are normally: Saturday night is BBQ although efforts are ongoing to bring in a Hog Roast specialist (not Anton!) Sunday is formal dress pizza party or BBQ and Monday is Fish & Chips

    Camping is £5 per person per day (£15 family group) Monday night FREE
    This year we are charging £2 per seat for each days trip to cover the van and trailer costs rather than charging for equipment hire.

    Minibus package (Transport, camping & trips but excluding food) £30 for weekend

    £10 deposit for all bookings

    Two camping areas 'Family Arena' and 'Late Nite Zone' with new gazeebos (thanks to LeisureShack)

  • Matlock Whitewater Weekend

    A weekend on the Dewent at Matlock staying in a bunk house on the Cromford Canal.
    It will be a weekend for introduction to white water and progression.

    Costs for the weekend £38 plus £7 for transport (if required)

    Transport will leave LOPC at 6pm Friday and return at about the same time on Sunday.
